Local people and independance day

by Muya - last update: Aug 17, 2004

I love to take pictures of local people, especially people in the Seychelles, so friendly. And kids are so beautiful !

The Pirate's Arms in Victoria is a meeting point for the inhabitants of Mahé.

School uniforms

I noticed that school kids had to wear uniforms, and that each school seems to have it's own colour. We saw many different uniforms in Victoria, red, blue or green. This picture was taken at the King's Garden... I couldn't resist :-)

At the military parade

June, 18 is Independance day. Almost everyone on the island wants to watch the parade and the stadium is quite full !

Horticultural contest

A lot of contests took place on the occasion of Independance day. Among them, the best decorated wheelbarrow.

Another original creation for Independance day. A place I'd love to be right now :-)
