Well I obviously didn' t take this photo myself but just now and then you need to be in your own pics just to show you were there.
Being my very first ever visit to Glenorchy, here is my proof of that visit.
I will return for sure, one day soon.
Lake Wakatipu and Road to Glenorchy.
Sparse population here!

Isolated.

As you can see it's hardly a built up area here. You can feel very far away from civilisation. Perhaps that is what you want? Then come to Glenorchy.

 Amazing photos. I spent 5 months living off the road to Glenorchy, but closer to Queenstown, never got to Glenorchy :-( it looks stunning.

 Adding (and googling) a Glen Orchy tip on my new Scotland page, I found your Glenorchy page with nice pics and tips (for a next visit). By the way quite a difference from the Scottish one.
