MY SWEETEST MEMORIES ON BOARD SOME OF MY MOST MEMORABLE FLIGHTS
My most memorable flights - on Business Class. Let's start with:

WOW! BATHROOMS Why do I enjoy flying on Cathay Pacific (CX)? Why, they have a full-length mirror in its revamped toilet/WC! Singapore Airlines (SQ) in my humble opinion has the best WC in business class vs all its competitor airlines. The worse business class WC? No hard feelings... but it's Qantas. :-(( I even sneaked in twice (on my Paris to Singapore) flight to the use the WC in the first class section. The stewards there weren't pleased and I had to stop doing that immediately. :-(
LIGHTING I love Virgin Airlines too. Their lighting system is just so amazing. Do you know that you can adjust it to go from dawn to dusk over the course of a flight, thus reducing the effects of jet lag on your body's clock? Very impressive.
ON-LINE Tho' the technology is still in its infancy stage... Singapore Airlines and Virgin are currently blazing the trail with e-mail and Web-browsing systems that will enable you to surf the Net while in flight! That means - to all you VT fans, you can log in to VT and update your pages, reply to your emails and oh yes, furiously rate pages. :-)) But be warned. It comes at a HUGE cost. Is it worth it? No (to logging in to VT). But Yes to answering your boss' email!
FOOD, FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD Several airlines have now completely changed their inflight menus with help from ground-based chefs. For example, on Singapore Airlines (SQ), you can order ahead from a haute menu (really!); and on Virgin/British Airways (BA), you can even choose to dine à la carte. C'est la vie!
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT Singapore Airlines spent approx. US$27,500 per seat to install their high-tech 14-inch video screens... touted as the sky's largest system currently. :-))
SNACKS For those who grow hungry easily... fear not! If you're flying with Cathay Pacific (CX), you can enjoy their delicious buttered toast and fresh eggs at any time from Cathay Pacific's onboard toasters and skillets. They also serve those Japanese instant noodles if you happen to be craving for one. I've tasted it and it's really not bad.
PAMPERING I gotta hand this to Virgin: Their massage-or-a-manicure service has been such a success that the airline has reconfigured its Upper Class deck to make room for a private treatment area (behind yet another curtain). If I'm flying within Continental Europe, I always fly with Virgin. (Gee, I sure hope Sir Richard Branson is reading this). And Cathay Pacific's WC are all stocked with my fave French brand - L'Occitane soaps and products. I like BA because of their Molton Brown toiletries. The last time I took Japan Airlines (several years back), they had Shiseido Eau de Toilette stocked in their WCs. What's more - it's my favorite brand too! Last but not least, Singapore Airlines have designer Eau de Toilette and Colognes stocked in their WCs that you can use to splash all over your body. I always come out of the WC smelling like a million bucks. :-)
COCKTAILS O.K., O.K., I know we're not supposed to fly "under the influence" (couldn't resist typing that in), but Virgin's Upper Class Bar is par excellence and my favorite "watering hole" in the sky. Do you know that they stock at least 15 brands of the best liquor in the market, including its very own Virgin Vodka in its bar? Even James Bond (yeah, the British superspy) would be so proud to hang out in the Upper Class Bar.
CABIN DESIGN Singapore Airlines' Raffles Class has been designed by the grand master himself, Givenchy (i.e. everything is designed by Givenchy.... including their striking tableware) .
Bon voyage and sweet dreams. :-)
