Things to do while in Little India

Garlands for Sale, Little India
This is Singapore at its most authentic and exotic. Less sterile than Chinatown, Little India promises a colourful array of sights, sounds and smells that is guaranteed to enthrall you for hours. Just make sure you do these things while you're here ...
Garlands, Little India

Buy a symbol of love, peace and purity

Watch garland weavers join red, yellow and white roses into a circular symbol of love, peace and purity .
A little girl learns how to pick green with daddy

Pick greens with the locals

Plunge into a sea of green next and watch the locals as they pick out their greens with expertise.
Meal on a leaf, Komala Villas

Eat a curry meal with your hands

After all that activity, have a curry meal with rice on a banana leaf with your hands!
Waiter, Komala Villas

Have a cuppa with a difference

Watch a waiter 'pull' a string of milky brown tea ( teh - tarik ) for you.
Tight squeeze, provision shop, little india

Buy Spices and Curry Powder

Squeeze into a notoriously narrow shop to buy delicious curry powder.

Walk into a Saree Shop

Look at rainbow-coloured silk Sarees and watch the hustle and bustle of local bargaining.

Indian Handicrafts

Explore little handicraft shops and look out for chicken and elephant motif lanterns and other strange souvenirs.

Hello Glen, Outstanding pages. Thanks for the virtual tour. Tomas Eriksson :)

Why would anybody quote a price in a currency other than the one in use locally? Firstly, the entire world is not American. Secondly, exchange rates fluctuate, so a figure in a foreign currency is useless.
