| | December 5, 2005 - VT Dinner When I decided to go to Bangkok and Chiangrai, I checked with Jock for a VT meeting in Bangkok on December 5... As it was the Birthday of HRH The King as well as Father's Day, we decided to have an early dinner so as to beat the holiday crowd, when the restaurant will be very crowded...
For convenience of VTers, we decided on somewhere near a BTS station... Thanks to Jock, we ended up at the Park Food Hall at the Emporium next to Phrom Phong station... The rendezvous was at Starbuck (on the 4th floor of the building) where VTers who are early can chat over coffee... As we are certain that all VTers who intend to come are already there, we then moved to the Park Food Hall to continue with the fellowship and for dinner...

Dinner was food court style where everyone has to order his/her favourite food... As most of the VTers have only met for the first time, there were exchanges of views and travel stories... I am specially touched by the many VTers who took the time and effort to come for the dinner... It was gratifying to note that Ammy, Sai and Sanjeev travelled considerable distance to be with us... As the following day is a working day, the Bangkok VTers have to take leave after the dinner... vowing to meet again soon in Bangkok or some faraway place...
It is noted that four of us are in yellow as it is the Birthday of HRH The King and Father's Day... By the way, on this day, fathers travel free on the BTS and MRTA trains... So I save some Baht travelling around Bangkok with my "daughters" Nim and Meenoi... |
| | May 17, 2005 - VT Dinner After coming back from Ayuttaya, we decided to pick up Nim and have a dinner... We ended up at the Tom Yam Khung Restaurant in Khao San Road... The food was good and we had a good meal before walking around the Khao San Road area...

| | May 16, 2005 - VT Supper Following dinner, five of us waited May who was supposed to join us for dinner, but due to work commitment was not able to leave the office in time... We decided to have coffee and drinks with her...

We end up having coffee and ice-cream at the Swenson's outlet next to the Chinese restaurant where we had our dinner... It was a good meeting as May had not met the rest of the "gang" except for me and Jock... Talks centred mainly on travel and getting to know you stuff... We left when the outlet was closing, being the last customers... We will certainly meet up again...

| | May 16, 2005 - VT Dinner My first day itinerary to Bangkok was to play golf upon arrival and then have a VT dinner meeting at night... The golf game was a wash-out as even before I can go to the golf course, due to the thunderstorm which came as I was preparing for the game...
The rain stopped for us to commence our journey to our rendezvous at Siam Centre... we then proceed to the New Light Chinese Restaurant in Siam Square for dinner...

We have a nice Chinese dinner and good fellowship... As most of the VTers have only met for the first time, there were exchanges of views and travel stories... As the following day is a working day, the Bangkok VTers have to take leave after the dinner... |
| | June 30, 2004 - VT Meeting When Spela was visiting Bangkok, I delayed my return trip to Malaysia to meet up with her... ie after my travel with Judy from Beijing... After many e-mails, we managed to meet up for 2 day before I have to leave Bangkok for home...
A quick posting in the forum and we are on at the FoodCourt@Chitlom for the dinner meeting...

When arriving at the food court, a smiling Patt was there to welcome us... As this is the first time that we meet Patt, there was no problem in recognising this nice smiling lady...
Besides the nice ambience of the food court, the warm of the Thai hosts add to the ocassion... We have a really good first VT meeting in Thailand as everyone chat like old friends... There was a wide choice of food and we leave with the feeling that we should come again and have more VT meetings in Bangkok... |
