Bioparco di Roma

If you don't like zoo's ,
just go and have a look
at the spectacular entrance
of the zoo.
It is located in Villa Borghese ,
not that far from
the famous museum.

The parc is rather small ,
but perfect if you want to escape the
mass tourism for an afternoon.
I always want to see the zoo ,
it tells me a lot about the locals I think.

If it comforts you ,
Bioparco is doing well.
After having a reputation of really
bad zoo , times are changing.

They are now enlarging enclosures ,
removing old exhibits and
renovating the nice ones.

I was a bit dissapointed that the historical
reptile house was in renovation.
But I bet it is going to look great.
It got a round chape and the
crocodiles are getting a new
exhibit in the middle of that.

I bet it is going to look quit spectacular.

Probably the most elegant animals...

But the award for the nicest enclosures
got to the 'lions , chimpanzees and bears.'.
greay seal

This little fellow was alone in his
large swimming pool ,
will he get company ,
or just move to a new spot.

I'll just have to find out next time
when I visit Rome.

Interesting pages, beautiful photos. You are an intellectual traveller. And obviously you like to see beyond. Tanti saluti.

Frank, where did you get this information about the St.Prassede Church in Rome? It all sounds new to me but I will make further research to find out more. Regards, Antonio
