Day 1 (15 May), Arrival, Kowloon Tour, LKF Nites

Central
(NOTE: I use this page to make notes of my travels prior to building my page...)

0800 -- Depart Seoul via bus

0900 -- Arrive Icnheon Airport

1100 -- Depart Incheon for Hong Kong via Cathay Pacific Airlines.

1230 -- Arrive Hong Kong, exchange US$ for HK$ at airport for about 7.2, book room at Marco Polo Gateway in Kowloon for US$90 per night. Take train to Kowloon Station for HK$90.

1330 -- Arrive at hotel & check bags. Walk through Kowloon to waterfront. Views of Victoria Island, the clock tower, HK walk of fame. Stop by Kowloon park before arriving at hotel.

1600 -- Check in to hotel (very nice!), get dinner at Crystal Jade Chinese Restaurant in shopping center near the hotel (HK $120 for 2 -- US$15 for soup, pork, and wontons)

1800 -- Go to Temple Street Night Market and have some brisket congee (HK$20).

2000 -- Kowloon Nightlife @ Mes Amis (nice), stop by a juicy bar called the Fair Lady (beer HK$19, Mixed Drink HK$88, Lady's Drink HK$220!), not much else is interesting in Kowloon.

2100 -- Nightlife in Hart Street area... stop at A-Bar which sucked, other bars are Commander Bar and Swiss Chalet.

2200 -- Subway to Lan Kwai Fong. It is packed with people! Go to Bitte Ein Bit Pub, Beirut, Maddogs, etc. Other highly recommended spots were Insomnia, Homebase, and Drop.

0230 -- Taxi back to Kowloon is HK$70

0300 -- Stop by a few other places in Kowloon (such as BBoss) for a nightcap.

Day 2 (16 May), Wanchai, Central, Victoria Peak

1000 -- Awake

1100 -- Wanchai walking tour -- not much to see.

1200 -- Lunch at Chinese Restaurant in 63 story building, not impressive service. Eat Dim Sum. Purchase Dragon Fruit at local market (very cheap -- HK$3!!!).

1300 -- Trolly to Central and Western. Stop at Western Market & Cat Street. Ferry back to Kowloon (HK$2.2 for upper deck & HK$1.7 for lower deck).

1430 -- DW takes a nap while I take subway (HK$4-9) to visit Hong Kong Park. Visit aviary, tower, ponds, Japanese gardens, etc.

1600 -- Ferry back to Kowloon (US$0.25)

1730 -- Subway to Central. Walk to tram, tram to Victoria Peak. Watch city light up, then have light dinner at Shooters on top of the mountain.

1900 -- Nightlife at Wanchai. Mes Amis & Joe Banannas. MA is nice and laid back. JB's is a blast -- full of women. 2 for 1 drinks until midnight!

0200 -- Taxi back to Kowloon (HK$70).

Day 3 (17 May), Ferry to Macau, early to bed

1030 -- Late wake up. I scout out the Kowloon Ferry while DW gets ready.

1130 -- Walk to Kowloon Ferry, purchase 2nd Class tickets for $140 HK$

1230 -- Depart for Macau

2200 -- Arrive back at Hong Kong Island Star Ferry Terminal and take Ferry to Kowloon.

2300 -- Early to bed... rest up for Singapore!

Day 4 (18 May), Depart for Singapore

0800 -- Awake

0900 -- Catch Taxi for Kowloon Train Station & get train to the airport

1000 -- Arrive at airport, breakfast of Dim Sum in terminal.

1225 -- Depart Hong Kong

 We stayed here - I would also rather save my money for Bangkok

 Brings back memories of a great week I spent in Hong Kong on R&R from Vietnam in March 1965. It was cool there, and I could walk around the whole week without a weapon. I don't think there was an ugly tower on Victoria Peak at that time.
