The Hampton Beach sand castle contest was held in late June. There were about 12 sand castles built. The event is by invitation only and the contestants were given 21 hours (7 hours over 3 days) to build their sculptures. The occurs during the week and it is possibly to go and watch them being built. Here is a link for sand castle events: Sand Castle Cental |
| | This shows the row of sand sculptures. They were all varied in their theme. |
| | This was the winning one. The emcee mentioned that it supposed to represent a lady who is beginning a new venture. |
| | This was truly a sand castle that was no where like the ones built as kids with upside-down pails. |
| | This one was interesting as it showed a kid reading a book, and in the background the book is coming alive with the characters which in this case are a Knight and a Dragon. |
| | All the contestants get together and create a central area which has a theme. This year the theme was Lord of the Rings. Also, there was a Ronald Reagen sculpture given his passing just prior to the event. |
| | Just a shot of beach volleyball with some New England beach houses in the background. |
