Snapshots of Ho Chi Minh City

by TravelChick67 - last update: Jun 6, 2004

The famous Ben Thanh Market
Fresh veggies galore
The fresh veggie lady...
The scissor maker...
In the lobby at the Sheraton
While walking around District 1, you'll no doubt pass the Sheraton. Stop in the lobby for a cool drink and relax in comfort to recharge your batteries. Very inexpensive and very nice.
So refreshing...
Here's the fabulous iced tea I had. They serve it with a small pitcher of lemon juice and a small pitcher of simple syrup. Very nice. No clumps of sugar and such at the bottom of your tea glass!
The monks on an alms walk
Monks have no property or wealth and every day must be fed by the citizens of the city where they live. They have special bowls which they carry with them in order to "receive" the food gifts.
Traditional Ao Dai
A young woman wearing a traditional ao dai. Ao dai means "long dress" in Vietnamese.
Looks like duck for dinner!
These poor little guys think they're on a joy ride when really, they're tonights duck special.
