It was a rainy, cold day that awaited us when we woke up on an April Saturday morning. We were planning on hiking so we figured we might as well go hiking regardless of the weather! :)
The trail was pretty well maintained, but with the fog and light drizzle, parts of the hike seemed kinda creepy like this picture here. Looks like some axe murderer could jump out at any second!
Fog rolling in again, after some intermittent sunshine....
It actually started to snow as we were getting closer to the top which is only at an elevation of 5074ft! Here we were in shorts and lightweight spring jackets and we were getting snowed on!!! Of course, it wasn't really heavy snow, but it was still pretty cold!
We saw some beautiful wildflowers that were in bloom along the trail. Does anyone know what these flowers are??
This mountain is actually the highest point within the CITY of Los Angeles. Who would have thought all this existed within the city limits??

Angela - thanks for all the great tips. Was like a walk down memory lane. Still need to checking out any hiking pages. Used to head off to the Sierras any chance I got.

Hi Angela, t'was great to finally meet you in person too. The weekend was fun. Hey I finally did the Mt. Baden-Powell hike. Not bad. I'm hiking up Mt. Whitney in a few weeks. I'm a little bit nervous about. =) Hope all is well.
