"Walking around Ft. Necessity" Fort Necessity State Park Travelogue by grandmaR

After we saw the film, we started out to walk down to the fort in a light rain.

The path from the visitor's center led down

Trail up to Mt. Washington Tavern

and into the woods

And across a little bridge over a stream. The the stream was full of water because we'd had a lot of rain.

There were a lot of signs along the way telling about the battle. The film that we'd seen and the signs helped us to orient ourselves.

Field was soggy and I imagine that it was like it was during the battle, which was held in the rain.

Then the path took us over the earthworks which had been built. and past the little cannon.
