Shopping with Laura during a visit Easter 2004 was thirsty work and it was good opportunity to stop for a coffee and to meet up with VT'er Ayers_Rock_Where. Nice to sit down, rest the feet and have a chat about VT stuff with each other - glad you could be there :-)

Finally met Richie (Richiecdisc) and Doreen in Salzburg 22nd May 2004 Richie had been soaking in his beer barrel on my homepage for far too long and I had vowed not to remove it until we met :-) At first the shock of getting out of the barrel was just too much and he collapsed on them - you have to see the pic in Salzburg travelogue for that!

We did the alternative tour of Salzburg as only Richie would know best and you can read all about it there and see lots more pics.

An incidental VT meeting occurred during our week in Ellmau. The couple in the hotel room next to us, sat on the next dinner table to us and the husband had done some research on the internet for the hol and had come across my VT Ellmau page from a previous visit. You can imagine the surprise he got when I was there in the flesh so to speak! he became a VT member just before leaving for the holiday so say hello to Phil Bell and his wife Linda.

Sabs and Bigs were next on the VT'ers meeting list - my first visit with Bigs too - when they came to staying inbetween Christmas 2004 and New Years Day 2005. Details and pics can be seen on my Merseyside page and travelogues.
They had to visit John Lennon though :-)

A trip to Malta in Jan 2005 saw a mini VT meeting - 28th Jan at Piccolo Padre, St Julians. It was great to meet you all there:

The one and only famous Valeggio meeting - so happy to be part of this. Got off to a great start in Bergamo where I met up with Irisbe and B_Caro and very briefly with Titti.

A shortish visit to Lyme Park, near Disley in Cheshire, on a dullish day was brightened up considerably with a stop off at the home of VT'er Bugalugs. After several years of chatting on-line it was great to finally meet up in the flesh with Dianne, her hubby Wayne and Bob the Yob at their - expanding! - home :-) A lovely welcome greeted us and cups of tea over afternoon chats - a delightful way to spend a lazy afternoon with the Christmas break just about over and back to work tomorrow.
Having met so many VT'ers abroad in previous years it made a change to meet someone relatively nearer to me! I'm sure our paths will cross again as we head into the peak district on some daytrips this year and hope to meet more VT'ers near and far throughout 2006 too. - maybe see you in Marbella in May at the Euromeet?
