Pigeon Bay is a few kms away from Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula, a very tiny place, but on a sunny day it looks like it would be quite special.
I only went there because I wanted to see the place where the ship of the original French settlers took refuge from storm/wind while waiting to reach Akaroa's harbour. |
| | Looks like boating is a really popular and the main activity here (there is a small yacht club and boat shed). Also a couple of kms down the coast, there is a caravan park right on the beach. Apart from that, there are just a handful of houses and that's about it for the Pigeon Bay township. |
