Treasures of The Louvre

Louvre
Here you can see some treasures of the Louvre I liked most.
Venus

Venus de Milo

Aphrodite or Venus de Milo. Height 2.02 m. Circa 100 BC.
Called so because it was found on the island of Melos.

Location: Sully, Rez-de-chaussee, Salle 12
Liberty

Liberty Leading the People

Painting by Eugene Delacroix.

Location: Denon, 1st etage, Mollien
Salle 77
Eros and Psyche

Eros and Psyche

This one is my favorit. Masterpiece by Italian Antonio Canova. Height 1.55 m. 1793.

Location: Denon, Rez-de-chaussee, Galerie Michel-Ange, Salle 4
Gioconda

La Gioconda or The Mona Lisa

Famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci is protected behind bulletproof glass. Height 0.77 m, width 0.53m. 1503-1506.
In the same gallery with Mona Lisa are additional paintings by Da Vinci.
In Italian "gioconda" also means a light-hearted woman.

Location: Denon, 1st etage, Salvator Rosa,Salle 13
Slave

The dying slave

"l'Esclave mourant" or "The dying slave" by Michelangelo Buonarroti. Height 2.09 m. 1513-1515

Location: Denon,Rez-de-chaussee, Galerie Michel-Ange, Salle 4
