Delta Life

The people of Mekong Delta lead a different life from their city cousins in HCMC. How challenging it must be to make a home in the vast marshlands and forests in the Delta! I had a chance to meet and interact with some of these Delta folks, many of whom are of Vietnamese , Khmer, Chinese and Cham origins.
These little darlings that you see in the picture are from the Ben Tre Province. They lead a simple life and make toy grasshoppers from the leaves of palm trees.

As does this baby boy , it takes only a yellow cup to pacify him.

Workers

The adults on the other hand carve out a simple life, depending on their skills and what they like to do..

Be it rowing tourists in rickety boats or..

musicians

singing with traditional musicians..

cutting little pieces of coconut candy by hand and later wrapping them up , one by one or

harvesting honey without any protective gear...
