My office signboard

Sign board of my office

Behind the mud brick wall of our compound, nestled in the central highland of Afghanistan, the UN World Food Programme works to improve the food security of the area and improve the livelihoods of the hungry poor. This is where I work and live. Its been wonderful so far.
sunburn plant cure

medicinal & wild flowers

Whenever I go canyon or mountain hiking, I often I take 'bagban' (which means, gardener, in the local language Dari) -his real name is AminAllah. What is fantastic is that Amin can point out all the various herbs and flowers and explain their uses and cures. Pictured here is a bush whose flowers can be eaten if one gets sunburned and feels feverish.
