Aquarelle on canvas.
As time goes by the mind needs to go beyond the learned and the expected. I have been experimenting in colour.
This is my new colour palette. The mind has settled on a different way to use colour and it seems to like this patina.
I am still getting used to the change but I like what I see.
This painting is inspired by those beautiful ladies who are comfortable and proud enough with their bodies to display nature without shame. |
| | Sun-Bleached Bather A small sketch for future expanding to a full-sized work.
Acrylic and Aqurelle on stretched canvas it is a study to play with the incorrect use of white.
The intention is to have the bather be part of the Sun-bleached and sand-swept landscape of a rocky, lime-stone beach.
Still working on the technicalities which are proving to be insidiously problematic but one needs to as least try. |
| | Inspired by a very good friend As in Cat Steven's song, Sad Lisa was very frustrating but one could not help caring for her.
And the care comes back in volumes. So blase we are when young. Where has all the beauty gone? Now that I am old, I wish for the impossible when the improbable was too easily acquired and thrown to the winds in my impetuous youth. |
| | Angie Pencil, Gauche on Board
A work of pure pain. Something that just wants to annoy me. So close...yet unable to get it right. Annoying...Perfectly mimicking the Model. |
| | Lady in Blue Paint on paper study in the Vargas style. Inspired by female elegance in mischief.
And there she was. So elegant, so pretty, so demure and vulnerable. So unapproachable, so passive, so unique and desirable. If I spoke to her the spell would be broken and I will never appreciate this moment again. Then, my beautiful Lady, you must be immortalised in my moment, never to lose your beauty. |
| | Fairy The Fairy in the colours I shall be dressing her in.
I prefer her pencil-naked, that way it is only art. Once dressed in paint she lives to flaunt her pain and sensuality. But paint hides the individual lines I scratched to create her.
You may not realise it but each line I drew on her body she wiggled, taunted and seduced me with calculated sexuality.
But she knew that I would never allow others to see her playfulness. Fairies, after all, are expected not to be selfish and asexual.
I know different. I know what makes her cry. |
| | Evangelista Wayward, emotional, aggressive and as nasty as she was tiny and vulnerable.
And yet she could take on the World and conquer it. But then she is lost again. Always wanting, never enough, never happy. And now, my Dear, after all this time, are you still the same? Have you realised that wealth is within your soul and appreciation and not possession was what you should have aspired to in the first place? |
| | Lazy Eye Colour pencil on Card
The more beautiful for the defect. Shy and withdrawn, she possesses more charms than a Fortune Teller. Maria-Theresa carries with her the name of an Empress and the innocence of the child. |
