'Italy' is a fantastic country.
It has history , passion , great food
and it is such a diverse country as well.

- ROME - is one of those pages
I spend houres and houres on.
It is a page with a them.
I mean all the tips are placed on a
time table. Have a look and you'll see
what I mean.
I work on it some more when I feel like it.

-Siena- is another one with a concept.
If you read the tips in the order I've
situated them , it is a walk trought the city.

Newest pages.

For my birthday I went to 'Valladolid'..
I think it is a great Spanish city. Perfect for a weekend.. Maybe not all of the page is on the big 'must see' list. More on how I experienced the city and seen through my Belgian eyes.

Brussels is the second page I have been working on lately. I got quit interested in Belgian history...revisited some places and discovered some new...
Brussels is more then 'de grote markt' , 'manneke pis' and the Atomium.
Since it is so close to Antwerp ,
it will be one of those pages that
keep on growing.

Travelogues.

I sometimes find great pleasure in putting time and effort building travelogues. Not just pictures...but something extra. I'll point a few out.

THE REAL COWS on my Belgium page :
about breeds of bovine in Europe...

INSECTS on Java. I can spend houres taking a picture when I'm alone. I just love it when a picture turns out right. Some of the picture I've made here make me a little bit proud.

WILD ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER on Java near Jogyakarta. Something from the heart. I love animals. But in general wild animals aren't doing too well.

SEAWORLD INDONESIA was the first place I saw a sea turtle. An adult one. Huge. Amazing. I'm still stunned.

Tip making policy!

IN GENERAL

-pictures are made by myself.
I don't like it when people use postcards
to make their pages better. It is somebodys
elses work. I love taking pictures.

-My tips are always on places I visited
myself. I don't like tips on museums
where you can be sure he/she has
never set a food inside. It can
happen that I don't get in myself..but
I'll tell you.
-The small daily things in life :
I'm easely amused and surprised.
I often make tips on daily live ,
things I saw of that happened.
Not that interesting for everybody
but parth of my experience as an
European.
-I take my time to build a page.
Sometimes I even start building
when I'm made already another trip.
Why? I read a book on it... find out
interesting facts and stories.
(I got quit a list waiting)

In general
- Building tips should be fun ,
for your own pleasure.
- Quantity is not the same as quality
(djeezes I've seen some pages
lately with a lot of tips , like 80 , from
a one day visit , all vote 4-5 stars
with NO actual or usefull
information on it--- amazing-
I hope I'm different)

My favorite tips
- are those when I can tell a story
on what happened
- restaurant tips : I love food and I
love to cook myself. I got a huge
amount of cook books for inspiration.
- Shopping tips : have a look on my
Antwerp-page to see what I mean.
I love to give attention to shops
that are different , original....

My interests?

Everybody has got it's own style of traveling. Some like to lay on a beach for three weeks and have a great time doing that...

I'm more tired coming home from holdiday then when I leave.
I like to see a lot of things , I walk till my feet hurd.

Is it possible to find a place with a nice atmosphere , nice local food , those just a little different spots?
I think so. It takes some effort and it doesn't always turn out the wayyou would have liked it to be. Djeezes I would be unhappy with a lot of tourist in a bus. Get out of the bus , see something , get back in , eat all together at that place...

I like to see the zoo , sir
I can assure you when you tell that in the tourist office or ask the hotel desk about the zoo you see some funny faces. Sometimes with reason. We did end up at some strange places. Why I would love to see the zoo... I think the way people treath animals tells a lot about that country. Ok , you shouldn't base your vision on one zoo.

I like to see the cemetary
Very interesting , those cultural differences in burial culture. I'm most fund of those victorian graveyards. But any graveyard will do. What do the graves say 'fell in eternal sleep' ? or do they just die here? There is so much art to find on these places. They are a part of living history. How weird that might sound...
