I love this shot! It was taken in color but I think it has a nice old world feel in black and white.

Wandering around Venice is such a treat for the eyes.

This was an especially beautiful day. Amazingly azure blue sky, cotton candy clouds, and a crisp chill in the air.

Before we left for this trip I remember being worried about the acqua alta. I was afraid it would render parts of Venice difficult to reach but that was not the case at all. In fact, we got some wonderful shots with the reflections in the water, etc.

If winter is the only time you can go to Venice, do it!

Now this is an interesting shot. We were passing over the bridge right in front of the train station and as I looked to my right down the Grand Canal, this is what I saw. Pretty wild, isn't it?

I grabbed my camera lightening fast and took a shot as we passed by. I just love this picture.

We were up very early this morning and had some wonderful opportunities to take a few pictures with what I would call a "normal" amount of people in them.

This was taken around the Ca D'oro vaporetto stop walking from the train station to Rialto Bridge.

This was our first day in Venice and after arriving under the cloak of darkness the night before.

We could not sleep past 5am so decided to head down towards Piazza San Marco and take some pictures. Good idea!

I took this shot hoping it would come out right and it did. I was so happy when I saw it and I was very happy we got up so early LOL

This one speaks for itself. It was a riot!

This was taken from the platform of the vaporetto stop. Our hotel was just to the right on the other side of the bridge. Hotel Galleria. Highly recommend. Great location and we had a view of the Grand Canal for a reasonable rate.

Granted, it was winter and our room was VERY small but, it was ours and we had a terrific view of the palazzo you see on the left right across from our room. Very cool and only $115 a night.

On our last day, we got up to wander around a little bit before our flight and were rewarded with a small snow storm!

We couldn't believe it. It was about 8am and by 10am, it was over. We were so glad to be up early even though both of us had gotten sick by this time and really should have been sleeping.

What the heck? You can always sleep on the plane!

And no, I DID NOT alter this photo. This is exactly how blue it was. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen.
