| Page Views: 235 Last Visit to Wellington: February, 2004 | Te Papa Museum/Lord of the Rings by Kate-Me - last update: Apr 24, 2004 |
This travelogue will feature some of my favorite exhibits out of the multi levels of Te Papa Museum.
This first picture is a window on one of the floors, looking out over Wellington city. |
| | Te Papa did have a huge exhibition of Lord of the Rings, but by the time we arrived, it had become a travelling exhibition and was in London.
This display is on the side of the bookshop/memorabilia shop in Te Papa, selling all kinds of Lord of the Rings stuff, including the Location Guidebook for travellers who want to re-visit the sites used in filming (from what I could learn, many were computer enhanced or have been changed back since, so we didn't take any of the 'Lord of the Rings' tours we saw on offer in certain South Island locations, including Wellington) |
| | However, there was something of the exhibition still remaining.
This castle is a scale model which was used in the filming of Lord Of the Rings (rather than construct a life size model) |
| | Almost realistic Lava flow at the base of the castle... |
| | The castle viewed from a couple of levels/floors above. |

aj31 Tue Aug 17, 2004 15:04 UTC Hi Kate, sorry to hear you didn't find Chocolate Fish you were ever so close as it just further around the bay from Seatoun - at Scorching Bay. Hope you had fun anyway. | mangueirense Tue Apr 6, 2004 17:52 UTC Hi Kate, that first pic on your Wellington Page reminds me a bit of Monaco...it is a little similar from the landscape, ins't it? Anyway, great start! |
