Who wants to babysit a dog that needs 24 hours of attention per day? Does anyone have any helpful travel advice on how to take a dog or what to do with your dog when you want to travel? Holly and I were married on December 31st, 2001. It is freezing in Labrador on New Years Eve and we still choose to take some pictures outside!! Holly and I kind of had two honeymoons so far. The first one was immediately after our wedding. In the freezing winter we flew off to Mont Tremblant, QC then drove to Ayers Cliff at the Ripplecove Inn. We drove to Vermont for a day as well into Jay Peak and St. Johnsbury and then back up to Montreal, QC, one of Canada's most european type cities. That was all in freezing January right after New Years. Then later in the year in November, Holly and I went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with her twin sister Danette and her husband Jamie :-) All those great pictures can be found here on my VT pages just by clicking on the links here. My wife Holly is an identical twin and ironically enough, Danette is also married to a Jamie? Weird hey? Puerto Vallarta VT Page |

This surname of Snook is an English topographic name for someone who lived on a piece of projecting land. The name was derived from the Middle English word SNOC. Other spellings of the name include SEVENOAK, SNOOK and SNOEK. It was also a locational name meaning ‘ one who came from SEVENOAKS’ a market town and parish in County Kent. The earliest of the name on record appears to be Stephen SEVENAC, who was recorded in Lincolnshire in the year 1273, and Simon SENENOK was recorded in County Somerset during the reign of Edward III (1327-1377). Habitation names were originally acquired by the original bearer of the name, who, having lived by, at or near a place, would then take that name as a form of identification for himself and his family. When people lived close to the soil as they did in the Middle Ages, they were acutely conscious of every local variation in landscape and countryside. Every field or plot of land was identified in normal conversation by a descriptive term. If a man lived on or near a hill or mountain, or by a river or stream, forests and trees, he might receive the word as a family name. Almost every town, city or village in early times, has served to name many families. Later instances of the name include Richard Snook of County Dorset, who registered at Oxford University in 1617, and Margery, daughter of Daniel SNOAKS was baptized at Kensington Church, London in 1642. Thomas Snook and Ann Autrick were married at St. Georges, Hanover Square, London in 1766. It was not until the 10th century that modern hereditary surnames first developed, and the use of fixed names spread, first to France, and then England, then to Germany and all of Europe. In these parts of Europe, the individual man was becoming more important, commerce was increasing and the exact identification of each man becoming necessity. Even today however, the Church does not recognize surnames. Baptisms and marriages are preformed through use of the Christian name alone. Thus hereditary names as we know them today developed gradually during the 11th to the 15th century in the various European countries.
