Loxodonta Africana: Largest land animals and wide spread, their weight varies from 2500 till 6000 kg and you can find him in all major vegetatoin types. They consume about 5% of their body weight a day (grass, young trees, bushes, bark,…). Elephants are thought to live no longer than 65 years. |
SPOTTED HYAENA Crocuta Crocuta: Very common and wide spread dog like carnivore. They can weight up to 90 kg. You can find them mostly in non forested areas, like open savannas, dry steppes and grasslands. They are opportunistic hunters, but they also scavenge. |  | |

VERVET Monkey Cercopithecus aethiops: Is wide spread and common all over the African continent. It can be found from the southern Sahara to the whole southern part of the Africa. It prefers savannas, riverside woodlands and mountains till 3600 m. You don't find them in the driest desserts and rainforests. Weight male: 3,5 to 7,5 Kg. Weight female: 2,5 to 5,5 Kg. Length without tail. Male: 45 to 85 cm. Female 40 to 60 cm. Length of the tail: 50 to 115 cm. They're omnivorous, but mainly vegetarian (grass, fruits, flowers, leaves, gum and seeds). |  | | Collecting vervet droppings. |
