Renovations to Quagmire Manour

by billus - last update: Sep 2, 2004

The trustees of Quagmire Manour have appropriated $2.25 million for the 67th Phase Expansion to Quagmire Manour. The ungainly edifice wil receive a new entry lobby and will be made accessible to wheelchair-bound users.
Column trees at the entrance lobby supporting steel roof deck and polycarbonate skylights. The new structure does not bear on the existng walls. The lobby will be enclosed in glass, and the metal structure will be painted blue gray.
Porte cochere engaged to elevator tower at right beyond. Existing fieldstone wing in background added in 1930.

Architect's design cunningly employs a surfeit of ramps, elevators, lifts, sliding doors, canopies, portes cochere, awnings, skylights, and tree-shaped columns to allow universal accessibility for the Publick to the Incestral
Tweeenhuysen family home.
