| Page Views: 294 | The Beer Official World Cup (B.O.W.C.) Part 2 by DavyDoug - last update: Mar 9, 2004 |
| One major spillage for the evening by myself. |
| | Results - 1st Round France beat Spain Mexico beat Germany (much to my disgust, for the record) India beat Norn Iron (no favouritism shown to the home nation here) Canada beat Czech Republic (not sure how that happened, doesn't bode well for the Prague trip though!) USA beat Malaysia Australia beat England (Just not cricket) Belgium beat Denmark Italy beat Scotland (a shame to wave goodbye to the best national anthem)
So all 3 home nations out in the first round, just like the Football World Cup! |
| | Results - Quarter final Mexico beat France Canada beat India Australia beat USA Belgium beat Italy |
| | Half-time Entertainment The logical choice of entertainment for several well oiled individuals........darts.
Tim, in the background, opting to "work out" instead. |
| Slightly damp results sheet showing path to Final. |
| | Results - Semi Final Mexico beat Canada Belgium beat Australia |
| | Results - Final Mexico v Belgium
The judges were spilt. Mike and Nick preferred Corona for Mexico and Graham and myself preferred Hoegaarden (Belgium).
Due to some dubious scoring by some parties, Mexico achieved a marginal win to become the B.O.W.C. Champion 2004. |
| G with the beer unofficial world cup champion. |
| | The Peoples Champion As is traditional the winning beer is poured into the Cup, but we'd drank all the Corona (shame) so Hoegaarden had to take its place. |
| Mike and Lester toast the Champion |
| | |
| | And finally... A big thank you to all the competitors. Gone but not forgotten! Actually, no. They've all been completely forgotten, but it's what they would have wanted.
Cheers!
Roll on B.O.W.C. 2005! |
