It is a pretty early day leaving from the hotel, it takes 4-5 hours to get there, but it's a trip you will never forget.

This is on the boat crossing the bay to start our bus trip. It takes about 1-1.5 hours to get across

On our way we stopped to see a cashew tree. We were told that until they are roasted they are poisonus.Didn't no that.....
The cashew is the little part under the red fruit.

Once you get into the mountains the roads are bad, going is slow and there are no guard rails, some places it is a long way....
But you will enjoy the fantastic views.
You will see small towns and homes in the mountains.
We saw two rainbows,a tucan,monkeys and many other birds.
But the view is fantastic....

On our way back we stopped in the small town of Monteverde to do some shopping.
This is the place to buy as t-shirts were 2-5 dollars cheaper than at the skytrek store.
Great little stores and a good coffee shop to.

Our guide told us that the roads are kept bad in thia area to keep it from getting over developed. The dutch owners did not want to many people moving in and destroying the natural surroundings...

This is why they do not fix the roads.So unless you are not scared of mountain driving please let some else do it....

On or way back down the mountains we got to see two different rainbows.
It rains often in the cloud forest.If you go into that part of the country expect to get wet, or at most the temp will be much cooler.
I was told that some of the best coffee is grown right here in Monteverde.

It was a great site to see....

We also got to see a hot spring....

The water was very hot...You could make a cup of coffee or tea with it.

Once you get to to port you have to wait for thet ferry.
We had a little bit of time to walk around...
This is the longest part of your day.
if you miss the last one you have a long ride or wait till the next day.

While waiting for the ferry, we got to see another beautful sunset....
