Paradise Here On Earth

by deecat - last update: Feb 23, 2004

USA's Most Exotic, Lush, and Romantic States!

Oahu's Beautiful Coastline
All you've heard about Hawaiian Islands is true. The climate is mild because of the tradewinds; the waters provide some of the best snokeling; the beaches are breathtaking; the seafood is outstanding; the native music and dance is enchanting; and the people are warm and friendly. That's why it's called "Paradise!"
Across the Bay From Lahaina

The Ocean, The Mountain, The Sky

On any given day, on any given Island, you can look out and see Mother Nature's Glory: the ocean, the mountains, the sky. All of her work in the Hawaiian Islands is extremely lovely.
Allan on Kaanapali Beach
A daily ritual was to walk the beautiful Kaanapali Beach, which was never crowded, always clean, and always within a few steps of our condo!
Skyline of Waikiki Beach

Commercial but Still Breathtaking

I walked onto the breaker wall to take this photograph of the skyline of Waikiki Beach, Honolulu. Yes, it's commercial with its highrise hotels; still, it still makes one pause to enjoy the beauty.
Cattleya Orchids

Floral Beauty Abounds on the Islands

This is a photograph of the Cattleya Orchids, which have long been praised for their beauty. These orchids are just one many orchids and other exotic flowers which florish in Hawaii.
Dee on Kaanapali Beach

Available Every Day For One Month!

Here I am wading in the Ocean along the Kaanapal Beach just steps from our Condo on Maui. I was able to do this every day for one glorious month. Ah, life is sweet...
Those Who Died at Pearl Harbor

Among All the Beauty, We Must Remember...

December 7, 1941 and the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor. The National Memorial at Pearl Harbor includes this gigantic wall with the names of all those who died...a sober reminder of that quiet Sunday morning when our Pacific Fleet was left in smoldering heaps of twisted steel.
So, when we view this Paradise, remember that it can be lost.
Hawaiian Moonlight

And a Beautiful Hawaiian Goodnight...

Each night as I sat on the lanai, I would view the moon over the ocean. It is a powerful pull, that moonlight. A pull to return to this lovely place another time...

Fine detailed tips, as always! I once saw a beautiful sunset in Hawaii -- from the airport terrace, while our plane was being refueled in 1964.

Another excellent page. So much diversity in Hawaii. Was surprise to know about the bamboo forest. Bring back fond memories of Hawaii. Cheers, SL :)

I've revisited your page on Hawaii because we'll be flying to Oahu in June!! I'm reading an excellent book, Oahu Revisited, that will be invaluable to us. Loved your tips, Dee!!! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY....

Wow Dee your well researched informative tips will be most helpful when we return to Hi. In all our many visits I never saw the Lahaina Lighthouse, Bamboo forest or amazing RITZy pool. Thanks for sharing. Nancy : )
