"Home garden" by 1+1

When unable to travel it's good to have a tranquil garden corner to loose yourself in. You can make it the garden of your dreams.

However, the heavy hand of reality can strike hard and you find yourself slogging away trying to achieve and maintain this dream garden and never having the time to fit any dreaming in.

This photo shows my latest garden project nearing completion. I'll put in a better photo when the job's done, hopefully within a week (weekend).

Still, I enjoy working out new ideas for the garden faster than I can implement them. Then there's getting the right plants for the right effects, and having them survive. It's all quite a challenge.

Beautiful flowers and edible fruit.

Well known in gardens, it's a very hardy, thorny sprawling shrub. It grows more as canes rather than as vines. Painful if you get around bare-footed.

This one is an Adenium species, otherwise called Desert Rose.

This one's considered an environmental weed in some places. Around Cairns you can see it growing up the tops of trees in the bush.

The one at my place (in the photo) is a dwarf variety and unlikely to go rampant.
