"Quito - The arrival" a Ecuador Travel Page by CaptainAmerica

I arrived at Quito's airport from Paris via Madrid quite exhausted by this long trip, but so happy to see Maillekeul again and to discover Ecuador that I did not feel tired at all.

We get directly to hotel Auberge Inn, between new and old Quito (please see my Quito's page for more details).

Then I discovered this wonderful Quito, trying to get used to the altitude (not easy with this silly habit of smoking more than 20 cigarettes a day...).

Quito is a big city, but at each step I could feel the specific atmosphere of an Andean country. That was not the discovery of South America, but Andean cities really have a different taste.

I was in Ecuador for three weeks only. Alas, I have now been working for approximately 5 years, and the endless holidays and trips came to an end when I began...

However, I really had the feeling of traveling for a long period of time thanks to the specific atmosphere of South America and to the nice people we met on the road (lucky you, some of you are still on the road right now!).

That was it. I was there. I was on the road again, even for only three weeks. Forget about Paris and the Parisians and work and all the rest!
