| St. Patrick's Parade (March 2003) |
| | Dublin - Living (and drinking) St. Patrick's I remember thinking, "Why not Ireland?". St. Patrick's festivities were recommended to me as something to be seen, I had some days off from the office, and above all, I really could not stand any more without traveling. So I landed in a surprisingly sunny Dublin, used for the first time my recently acquired SLR camera and recollected only good memories from there... … Also not to be miss, the serenity of the charming village of Howth |
| | France - Backpacking La Provence On May, three unrelated events conspired to drive me to the beautiful Provence region, in south France: A long weekend holiday, a thousand sky points with Iberia and the desire of discovering for the first time the neighborhood country. So, with just the plain tickets and my backpack, I landed in Marseille one windy evening. Those were 5 glorious days of excellent food, delicious wines and discovering of underrated gems such as Arles. |
| Sunset in Lisboa (July 2003) |
| | Portugal - Driving my way to Lisbon Portugal was for me the big travel of the Year. Going there was, probably, the wildest, craziest idea I’ve ever had in my life… apart from joining VT ;-) With just a week of driving experience, I embarked myself in a 1200 km. road trip abroad. It is also probably the travel of which a treasure fondest memories… the absolute freedom feeling, the warm of the Portuguese people, the joy of discovering a new country without any constrain whatsoever… I’m more than willing to repeat the experience in the near future. |
| | Almeria - Swimming in Mars I devoted the last week of summer holidays to a self-indulging trip to the Almeria coast, in the south of Spain. It was a nice ending of a exciting summer, surrounded by the semi-desert landscape of Cabo de Gata and accompanied by some of my best pals. A travel enjoyed by day... and also by night :-P |
| Picturing La Alcarria (Guadalajara, Nov 2003) |
| | La Alcarria - Short travels Who said long travels are better than short ones? This year showed me that, sometimes, what really matters is not the place you're visiting, nor the money you have in the wallet, nor to stay in a luxury accommodation, nor to fly in first class... beauty could be just at the turn of the corner, or a 45 minute drive from home... |
| Red Teide (Tenerife, December 2003) |
| | Tenerife - Looking for the Sun, finding El Teide In an attempt of escaping the Spanish winter, I flew during Christmas to the Canary Islands; something that let me the opportunity of rediscovering the beautiful and completely underrated Tenerife. Hard to forget the breathtaking sunset over el Teide on New Year's eve... |
