Caesar's Palace The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace are not just for adults. Well, the merchandise within might be, but the mall itself is a delight for youngsters too, with it's realistic sky taking you from dawn to dusk and back again, animatronic statuary, and fountains. A Warner Bros. store and a three-story FAO Schwartz fits the bill perfectly for the younger crowd but there is an IMAX theater for older kids, the world's only 3-D motion simulator IMAX with its "Race for Atlantis" show, and the Cinema Ride, which offers 3-D experiences in six different categories, plus a Planet Hollywood which is great fun for teens. Circus Circus What kid doesn't like a circus midway, with trapeze artists flying overhead? Every day, from about 11:00 in the morning to midnight, the circus performers delight everyone with their acts high up above the casino floor. Kids have their own midway, accessible from the main casino, in which they can try games of skill and/or chance and walk out with tons of prizes (mostly stuffed animals.) There's a McDonald's right there, and a video arcade. Games cost between 50 cents and $3.
Excalibur Located below the casino floor (as opposed to Circus Circus's kid spot, which is just above it,) the Medieval Village at Excalibur has merry maids, magicians, clowns and jesters, mimes and jugglers in continous performance from about 10:00am to 10:00pm. There is also an arcade and a couple of hydraulically operated rides, which cost about $3 each.
Las Vegas Hilton Trekkies? Yeah, we got Trekkies. Star Trek: The Experience makes its home right here at the Las Vegas Hilton. Kids can become a member of the Starfleet at the Morphing Station, do battle in realistic motion simulators, eat in a Star Trek restaurant and visit the Star Trek Museum with its special effects and original costumes. Just make sure to put aside enough money for the realistic looking Spock ears available at the Star Trek shop.
Mirage Resort and Casino Absolutely free! Yes, you can see the white tigers of Seigfried and Roy's world famous show at the main entrance to The Mirage and you don't have to pay a single penny. The Royal White Tiger Habitat is a large enclosure with pools and caves where the show animals sleep, swim and preen for the public. And free too is the 54-foot long, 20,000 gallon aquarium located behind the reception desk at The Mirage, filled with over a thousand species of exotic fish. You will pay, however, to enter both the Dolphin Habitat located behind the hotel, and to enter The Secret Garden of Seigfried and Roy, which is filled with wild creatures, including more of the rare white tigers. Call for opening times and admission prices.
New York New York Home to the Manhattan Express roller coaster, for teens (or kids at least 54 inches tall, and not recommended for kids under 13) this screamer is SCARY. Traveling at speeds up to 70 mph, through the casino, around the Statue of Liberty, up, down and sideways. This is not for young kids or anyone with a pacemaker.
Stratosphere Don't even think about trying this if you are even slightly phobic about heights, if you have a weak heart, or if you aren't a very daring thrill seeker. The world's highest roller coaster is located atop the third tallest building in North America, and while the ride itself isn't too scary or gut-churning, the fact that it's out in the open and 900 feet in the air is. The Big Shot, another ride atop the tower, is (if possible) even scarier, shooting you straight up a pole, suspending you for a few seconds, and jerking you down again e-v-e-r s-o s-l-o-w-l-y. Ugh. Admission to the tower and a choice of two rides can be sold as a package and is the best deal. Riders have to be at least 48 inches tall.
Treasure Island at the Mirage Every ninety minutes (except in really terrible weather,) a British Navy vessel and a pirate ship battle it out with cannons and fireballs and lots of noise and hoopla on the outside northeast corner of the property. Inside the hotel, Mutiny Bay is a terrific arcade with games and rides for all ages |
| | Adventure Dome Located behind Circus Circus, this indoor amusement park is much more than an arcade, with roller-coasters and water flume rides, net climbing, bumper cars, midway games and more. Getting into the place is free but the best value is to buy a wristband for unlimited rides... the price depends on your height. Kids under 48 inches tall pay less than their bigger siblings or mom and dad. Open until 6pm only during the week, the dome has extended hours on weekends, closing at midnight on both Friday and Saturday. Discovery Zone Located in the neighboring suburb of Henderson (it requires a car for access,) this fun venue for kids under 12 offers kid-style karaoke, bounce-pools, tube mazes, laser tag and arts and crafts. It's a family affair: Parents get in free when accompanied by their children, and they must remain on the premises.
Wet 'N Wild This is an excellent way to spend a day in Las Vegas, with millions of gallons of water to cool the blazing desert heat. Slides, lazy river pools, wave pools and the ...um... Royal Flush (yes, it does just what it sounds like) keep kids and their folks Wet 'N Wild. You can bring food and drink (but no alcohol) into the park. A day pass is the best value; kids under three get in free. It's located across the street from Sahara Hotel and Casino at the north end of The Strip. |
| | Grand Canyon This is a great value for those who are limited on time. You will enjoy your flight over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, and the swirling waters of the Colorado River. See the Black Canyon, extinct volcanoes and Rainbow Gardens with some of the most colorful and unusual geological formations in the world. As you fly over the Grand Canyon, you are certain to appreciate nature's largest masterpiece. These types of views are only possible to see from the air. |
| | Black Canyon Hummer Trip The Black Canyon Adventure Tour begins with a quick stop at Expedition Depot in the heart of Boulder City. You are then transported to Hoover Dam where you will begin with a relaxing 11 mile float trip. Your guide will escort you down the Colorado River and into the Black Canyon where you are likely to encounter Big Horn Sheep grazing along the shoreline, ancient Indian petroglyphs along the canyon walls and bumbling natural hot springs. You will enjoy the outdoor beauty of the canyon while you dine on your prepared lunch as the tour stops on the beach. Your friendly and informative guide will explain the history of the area and the ancient ways the river was navigated by early explorers as they arrived from Mexico looking for gold and other treasures. There are many photo opportunities along this tour, so be sure to bring your camera.
From here you will return to Expedition Depot where you will be picked up in a special equipped 'Hummer', Deep Desert Exploration Vehicle (D.D.E.V) that will take you into places no other vehicle can access. This will be the ride of your life as the Hummer powers through the rugged Frenchmen Mountains arriving at the major fault line Lizard Eye Ridge. Next, you are delivered back to your hotel room safe and sound, with memories of a lifetime. |

| To all my new worldwide friends |
| | A quiz for you A little test for you.
You don't actually have to take the quiz. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point (an awesome one) that it is trying to make!
Take this quiz:
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:
1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.
Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.
They are the ones that care.
Pass this on to those people who have made a difference in your life.
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
It's already tomorrow in Australia."

| I am chocolate on chocolate |
| | Which one are you? If you were making a dessert and you had your choice of those
below (or some great bakery was baking the dessert of your choice), which would you choose?
Angel food
Brownies
Lemon Meringue
Vanilla with Chocolate Icing
Strawberry Short Cake
Chocolate on Chocolate
Ice Cream
Carrot Cake
NO ... You can't change your mind once you scroll down! So think carefully, what your choice will be!
OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what research = says about you!
Angel food ... Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times
Brownies... You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion = of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.
Lemon Meringue... Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.
Vanilla with Chocolate Icing ... Fun-loving, sassy, humorous. Not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.
Strawberry Short Cake ... Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch. You tend to melt. You can be overly emotional and annoying at times.
Chocolate on Chocolate ... Sexy, always ready to give and receive. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.
Ice Cream... You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.
Carrot Cake... You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends. |
