Cheekymarieh. You can see why she's cheeky from this picture! Marie was the first VTer that I met, along with Pete_r who is now no longer with us. No, not dead, but left VT. We met in York long ago, but we see Marie often now, for meals, parties, football games, in fact for anything. The first VT friend who turmed into a real friend - even though she supports 'Boro.

B_caro.
One of the first people I started mailing with on VT right back when I joined. We met a few times when I visited Belgium in 2002, visiting bars, restaurants & breweries and I had a really nice time. I'd like to meet again sometime, but fate seems to be against it.

Helga67 and Filipdebont.
I first met Helga (and husband Walter) when she made a daytrip to York. Unfortunately I made her waste a load of time while she waited for me, because the traffic was a nightmare. Still, she didn't hold this against me and we've been friends since. I met her again a couple of times when I visited Belgium in 2002, along with Filipdebont. I've known Filip for as long as I've been on VT and it was great to finally meet him.

Sabsi and Bigs.
I met Sabs and Bigs (they are sisters) in 2002 when I visited Sabs in Dusseldorf. In fact we stayed with her at "Hotel Sabsi", a small hotel with only one bedroom for the guests, which means that the staff has to sleep on the floor ;-)
Bigs joined us for a day in Cologne which was great, there was a beer festival and free entry to the chocolate museum. What more can you want.
In 2003 Sabs came to stay with us and we showed her a good time (I hope) around the North of England.

No idea how I got to know Laura, it's lost in antiquity. Suffice to say though that she came to stay with us in 2002 and we spent a lovely week traipsing around the North of England. And then later that same year we went down to visit her in Manchester for a long weekend. In the summer of 2003 we met her again in York and she spent another night at Hotel Tilly, and later this year we'll holiday together in a log cabin in the Lake District. With all of this would you actually believe that Laura lives in Canada!
Officially adopted as "virtual family" :-)

Sandysmith.
Met on VT due to "coincidences" - same holidays, walks etc, and then met in real life in Venice in 2002. Later that year we went to visit Sandy at her place and had a lovely time - her & Dave are perfect hosts; her house is great too, so close to the beach! We've since met a few times - in Manchester with Laura, in York (with Laura), in Liverpool & Chester (with Sabsi) and in Saltaire (with just us). Well known for being "blonde" she doesn't let that hold her back! :-)
