I'm totally in love with Kylie Minogue and have been since the days of "I Should Be So Lucky", though she's far, far sexier now than then!
I'm aged 40+, and I've been married to Susan for all my life.
I've been into computers since I was a kid and worked with them throughout my career. It's great - kind of like having a favourite hobby that people will pay you to do! And if my boss is reading this, no, I won't do it for free!!
At home I like to busy myself with two sites, this one (obviously) and also blogging, something that's been around for a while but is quite new to me. I'm just "playing" with it at the moment. You can get to my blog page from the "external page" link in my VT info section.
I support Sunderland AFC and have done since I was 14. I've been to almost every home game since then, along with my sister Diane. It's kind of "our thing", something that we share together and it's the fact that I do it with her that keeps me going when they're playing terribly, which to be honest is most of the time.
I've loved Marvel Comics since I was a kid too, especially X Men, Spiderman, Avengers, Iron Man, Fantastic Four and Daredevil. I've quite a collection in Mam's attic - I must bring them home some day so I can read them again.
I also love movies, either at the cinema, on TV or on DVD. My favourite movies are the sci-fi type, or action/adventure movies, though I will see almost anything so long as it's good. Favourite movies include X Men & X Men2, Top Gun, Ronin, Leon, Moulin Rouge, Amelie, Minority Report, the even numbered Star Trek movies, Pirates Of The Caribbean, The Matrix (only the first one), Stargate and Crimson Tide, though there are many many others too.
On TV I don't really watch much - but I can't miss Star Trek. I've seen all of the Star Trek incarnations, my favourite ever was Voyager followed by certain of Next Generation, mainly those episodes with The Borg and also "Yesterday's Enterprise", a real classic. The new series "Enterprise" shows promise too. Other than that it's usually holiday programs or "buy a house abroad" programs. Something of a dream of ours, though I dunno if we'll ever do it.
Musical tastes are mainly dance, r&b, hip-hop and rap these days, with some plain old pop thrown in too. Mainly I like female vocals, truthfully as much for the sound as for the fact that they're mostly pretty hot women too! My favourites at the moment are Kylie, Christina Aguillera, Destiny's Child, Norah Jones, Eminem and 50 Cent. Historically I've been... a glam rocker (Sweet, Gary Glitter, Slade etc); a Punk (Stranglers, Buzzcocks, Boom Town Rats, Sex Pistols etc); a New Romantic (Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, OMD etc) (and also Joy Division / New Order); lost my way totally in the early 90's and listened to any old Stock/Aitkin/Waterman styleised pop (but that's how I found Kylie...); and now lately the stuff I mentioned earlier.
So, I guess I sound like a real geek. Into computers, internet, sci-fi, marvel and star trek. I think I ticked all the boxes there. Believe me though, I'm not - though I bet all geeks say that, eh?
