This forest is located in the southwestern area of Odense and only a five-minute walk away from my apartment, behind the Odense Zoo.
In the same area as the forest you'll find the Skovsoen (the 'Forest Lake') and Fruens Boege which is a big green meadow.

One winter morning I went for a walk in the forest with my camera and here is the outcome...

Odense A (with a circle above the A) is the name of the river than runs through Odense and also through the forest and past the lake.
In the summer-period you can take a river-boat cruise on the river with live jazz-music. The trips usually starts in the center city and ends in the forest.

A cycle-path runs along the river all the way from the forest to the center-city and it's a ice route to take to get away from the traffic.
Actually this path also runs through the Odense Zoo so you might get a glimpse of a camel or something like that on your trip. It's not possible to enter the Zoo along the path though.

The forest in Odense is a popular place to go in all periods of the year. Each period has it's beautiful sights. Not at least in the autumn when the leafs change their colors or in the winter when the sun is low and you might have snow.

As mentioned elsewhere there are two restaurants in the forest-area. One is located near the lake, but the other one is right in the forest (near the railway) and is named 'Karlslund'. (not pictured)

There is some entertainment for the young kids too as a small wooden playground can be found in the forest near the restaurant 'Karlslund'.

You won't find many animals in this forest though except for insects and spiders and maybe a bunny. But a lot of birds can be found at the lake.
