Clifton Beaches 1-4. This is the beach to be seen on. The water is COLD - that's why you won't see many people bathing but it is one of the beaches most protected from the Cape Doctor (the southeasterly wind) Topless bathing permitted. If travelling by car, get there early as this beach is very popular and parking can be a problem. Remember your sunblock! |
| | Camps Bay Situated on the Atlantic coast between Clifton and Llandudno, this beach has fine white sand and COLD water. |
| | LLandudno Llandudno can be found between Camps Bay and Hout Bay. A smallish white sandy beach well protected from the elements but a little more difficult to get to due to very limited parking. |
| | Sandy Bay - Cape Towns official Nudist Beach Sandy Bay is found to the south of Llandudno. You'll have to leave your car and walk a km or two to get to the beach. |
| | Fish Hoek Fish Hoek beach is found in False Bay. This beach with its slightly warmer water than the beaches on the Atlantic seaboard offers safe bathing for young and old. The southeaster can be a nuisance sometimes though. |
| | Muizenberg Muizenberg was once the holiday playground of Cape Town but for some obscure reason, I guess it was the nutorious southeaster, this all changed a number of years ago. Lately Muizenberg seems to be making it's mark with the tourists again. Popular with the surfing crowd. |
| | St James St James with its shelly sand is extremely crowded on public holidays, but it is a beautiful and colourful beach, and there is a tidal pool. |
| Table Mountain from Blaauberg |
| | Blaauberg ( Blouberg) Situated on the Atlantic side of the Cape Peninsula, this beach offers the best views of Table Mountain. The water is cold but popular with surfers, wetbikers, windsurfers and kiteboarders. A bit too cold for swimming though. |
