"Flower snapshots" by Joyce_HK

This is taken during the Easter to trial out my new digital camera. The Hong Kong Park greenhouse is full of tropical orchid and all kinds of plants. Wonderful place for shooting!

I really got no idea what this is, as long as it is cute, I don't care (and I hope you don't care too much).

Peach is popular during Chinese New Year (January or February, depending on the Lunar calendar).

A peach blossom bush can be as tall as 6 feet but those of 3 to 4 feets tall are more commonly seen.

This is taken in Festival Walk, a famous shopping mall, during Chinese New Year.

There is a little garden in Kowloon Park with bushes of roses planted. In a city which gardening is not popular this smalll garden was pretty enough to give me a surprise.

Lotus blossoms in summer in Mainland China, however thanks to the humid and warm climate in Hong Kong, we see lotus earlier, sometimes in May.

Lotus is beloved by scholars in ancient China, and there are numerous poems and literature with lotus as motif or theme.
