"Shore Acres State Park" Oregon Travelogue by plexus77

There are many beautiful and fascinating places in Oregon to visit, it is hard to make choices of what to see. Many of the better ones are out of the way, and although not hard to find, are not on the main highways.
If you are on the southern Oregon Coast, near Coos Bay, Shore Acres State Park is well worth stopping by. This oasis on the coast was actually the mansion gardens of one of the local timber barons. His first house was torn down, and the second one dismantled by the State, after the property came under the State's control

I can't help it.....I am a sucker for pretty flowers.... I seem to always be taking pictures of flowers rather than the scenery.

Whose flower is this? I think I know. His house is in the village, though.

I don't know the name of this flower, it just struck my eye. The gardens are full of flowers blooming throughout the year.
