KIMMO and his lady (sorry, forgot her name ;->).

KIMMO and i started to chat - i think there was a forum that led to our communication. I then learnt that he was on his way to Thailand and was asking for assistance to recommending him hotels in BKK.

Checked him in to the SOFITEL SILOM.

Met them both for dinner. KIMMO is a great chef and a world traveler! I must admit that he did have a cool digicam! Nice fella and very punctual for the appointment!

JOAQUIN - hailing from SPAIN is a soft spoken traveler = the reason?

We were all at dinner when he visited and around the table was the discussion of VT rankings....and he didn't even utter a word that he was in the top 10 VT ranked!

His SECRET is in his travel journal that will blow your mind! Be sure to ask to see it f you meet him!

SIR RICHARD is a graphic artist and has almost real life drawings of the places that he has visited. The page that i liked most was a beer label that he kept from cambodia.

James is possibly one of the best humored and alive fella i have come to meet from VT.

I got to know sometime ago back in 2001, the same time I also met the others at a dinner gathering.

This guy is definitely someone to watch out for when it comes to border crossings in indo china....his californian flare gets him going and i know for a fact his smooth ways gets him to lots of places...

congrats, he's now a dad with a thai wife!

Now this guy is one of the guys that you'll never easily forget.

Phil has his english humor and he does make me laugh many times - with his amazing travel stories.

Phil is an X-IBM for 19 years and i must say he keeps that low and enjoys travellig much more! Phil also has great stuff on his web pages -- when he feels like wriitng.

We keep missing out on getting together - Phil, i know your excuses..hahah

YEN is possibly the first local VTer that I have ever met and she's my VT buddy.

Yen is married to ALBERT, a wonderful gent that comes to almost all VT gatherings, but perhaps has a lot of work as not plugged into VT....but i think YEN's pages are sufficient for the whole family.

Her BKK pages puts many local VTers to pale....check them out! She's good! We will defintiely miss her when her family relocates to Japan! Gonna miss your smiley face!

PATT, i must admit is one of the nicest people around - soft spoken, but filled with lots of travel info!

PATT works at a musuem in SRI AYUTTHAYA area and her musuem consists of many antiques from bygone eras!

PATT is very active with local VT gatherings and excellent at getting people to meet - i have tried nomnating her as our local Vter's social chair...PATT never fails to attend gatherings...

Neng, her nick name, is an architect by profession and are great friends with DORA HETA (nick name - NIM).

Neng has amazing stories of Thai cultures and visits to interesting places. My first encounter with NENG as when SIR RICHARD visited us...

that was the first to also have met DORA HETA and SYLLBABE!

Nick name: NIM (in thai means soft) -- but oh, this is not a soft one.

Nim presently works in a Taiwanese Company dealing with motor vehicle chains and is on preserving and great customer service personnel! (Architect graduate)

NIM has a silent humor that needs you to pay a closer attention. NIM and NENG are close friends and they have a great zest for local VT!
