Flat Iron/'Triangle' Buildings (my collection)

by Canadian_Traveler - last update: Jun 3, 2005

My travels

The 'king' of flat irons - New York, NY - May 2002
Most people collect a little something from each place they visit...

I collect a few things, shot glasses, decks of cards. Many of my collections began when I was younger (the shot glass collection especially). They might be cheesy but they're always fun to bring out at parties...good conversation pieces or not, whatever...you can drink out of them.

My favourite though, is my collection of flat-iron / triangle building photos. Almost every major city has one. I don't go out of my way to find them, or travel to particular locations because one exists there but if I see one....I snap a shot.

Anyway, I'd like to share my collection (it's quite small still as I've only recently started it) and I'd love to hear about what others collect (if anything).

Enjoy!

Brussels, Belgium

This photo was taken in Brussels, Belgium in November of 2001. This building is a block from La Grande Place.
Sienna, Italy - December 2001

Sienna, Italy

Ok, so this one might be called cheating...but hey, it's Italy! I had to add this photo because I can't imagine there would be any true flat iron buildings in Sienna but I love Sienna and really all of Tuscany so here it is.
Paris, France - Nov. 2003

Paris, France

This photo was taken in Paris in November of 2003. I can't seem to recall the exact location so if anyone recognizes it....feel free to fill me in!
Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Toronto, ON, Canada

Found this one on the way to the Hockey Hall of Fame...

We have a Flat Iron here in Columbus Ohio. It's a very unique building and wonderful resturant. Next time you're in Columbus, which I know will probably be next week, be sure and get a picture and check out the fare. Columbus has great things to offer.
