Jardin du Luxembourg

The big fountain in Jardin du Luxembourg
This park is just wonderful! It's nice just to sit in one of the chairs here and just relax for a while, as you watch the kids play with their boats in the big fountain.
Music at the pavillion

Concerts

Close to the 'main-entrance' of the park, you'll find this pavillion where many different bands come and play during the summer. It's a very nice place to sit and relax while listening to some happy tunes in the sun!
The beautiful decorated Jardin du Luxembourg

Flowers

It's very beautiful to take a walk in the park during in the summer-months!
The Montparnasse tower in the background

More flowers

One of the great things about this place is that you can 'get off' from the big city life and just relax if you feel the need for that. At this photo, you can just get a glimpse of the Montparnasse tower in the background, but besides that, you can't see the streets and traffic from in here.
Flowers surrounding the sculpture

Sculptures

You'll find several sculptures in the park. Here's one surrounded by a beautiful scenery!
My brother beside Paris' own Statue of Liberty

Statue of Liberty

In the western end of the park you'll find a small version of the Statue of Liberty. The original in New York was actually a gift from France.
Petanque courts in Jardins du Luxembourg

Petanque

In the western area of the park, near the 'Statue of Liberty' you'll also find the park's petanque courts. This is a lovely place to play the game yourself, or to watch the local men play.
French petanque players

Petanque players

People play here every day, and many people also come by to sit down and relax as they follow the games.
