Mehmet was almost certainly one of my first VT friends. I 'met' him whilst Dianne was back home in the US, and he wanted someone to chat to. Eventually, in November 2001 I flew to Istanbul, and spent three very enjoyable days with them both (see my Istanbul page)

I can't recall when I actually 'met' Phil as a VT friend, but it was quite some time ago. Phil invited me over to Oregon a couple of years ago, but for various reasons I couldn't go until late May of 2003. Phil drove all the way from Portland, Oregon, to Los Angeles, and met me at the airport. It was a very hot summer! After 2 days in LA, meeting up with Giampiero and Stephanie (VT Staff) and others, we set out up the California and Oregon coasts.
