we took around 45 mins from alor setar to bukit kayu hitam ( thailand border ) by car. the only disadvantage is you have to get off ur car to fill in a custom form, attached with ur passport and queue up at counter 1 (malaysian) or counter 5 (tourist).

we had lunch here after our crazy shopping ( for the guys would be the pirated jersey and clubs for u know.. ) i ordered a fried koay tiew but turned out to be fried rice noodle and my bf ordered a fried rice without pork ( he can't eat pork ) but came with delicious and juicy roasted pork...hee... which ended up in my stomach. I highly recommanded "chicken tong yam" for those who can take real spicy food.
