An Apartment in/near the Jordaan Facade of the apartment I rented from CityMundo. 2 floors up from the quaint and comfortable Reestraat. |
| | Prinsengracht cornerTaking a morning walk down a little street. On the Prinsengracht corner of my apartment street, north side is a cafe/restaurant.. directly across the street from.... |
My favorite place for koffie and uitsmijterCafe Koffie Huis De Hoek
Every morning I had good coffee and an occasional uitsmijter for breakfast here. The gentleman who ran this place was very friendly, helpful and one of the most genuine people I have ever met in Amsterdam, and that is saying a lot.
They will prepare an excellent uitsmijter (Nederlands-style "omelet") with any ingredients, any way you like, anytime before they close in the afternoon. After breakfast, they set out tables on the Reestraat bridge over the Prinsengracht for afternoon coffee.
Consistently good coffee, food and service, the occasional joke & pat on the back, and always the "Doei!" as you leave to start your day. | | | Best breakfast cafe around |

| | Art Gallery and subjectJust down (east) Reestraat from Cafe Koffie Huis De Hoek is a gallery, which is across the street from.... |
Reestraat 12 shopThe wonderful and extremely interesting Bead Art Shop of Ellie Saiyd, which contains beautiful art objects from all over Asia, not to mention the most gracious and lovely Ellie Saiyd herself. More on her later under "Shopping"... Bead Art ShopAcross the street it's time to stop for coffee and to take photos of street life
| | Candid shots from a cafeSitting in a cafe across from my apartment, taking shots of anything and everything/everyone that goes by.
Then across the street to the corner... |
Cafe PullitzerCafe Pullitzer, which sits looking at the Keizersgracht at the east end of Reestraat, is part of the Hotel Pullitzer, which is all the way at the other end, where we started, at the Prinsengracht bridge
| | Reesluis bridge over PrinsengrachtHope you enjoyed the walk. If you click below, you will be able to "virtually walk" through the Jordaan, starting out right where this walk does, facing east on Reestraat bridge (Reesluis) over Prinsengraht, headed down my street. Reestraat walkTot straks. |

I think it's great that you got to meet Louis H. Bryan. And yours is the only Theda Bara quote that I have seen thus far on VT. I went to Amsterdam in May, rented a bike and had a fine time riding around. |
