Allerliefst dames rit fiets Was having afternoon coffee on the terrace of a little cafe across the street from my apartment on Reestraat when this "Amsterdam moment" went pedaling by.
Picture says it all as to why I like Amsterdam so much. |
| Walking up the sharp incline of a bridge |
| | More Hollander ladies biking on Prinsengracht Why do the people of Nederlands look so.... good? Genes, diet, exercise? (probably genetics..)
Who cares.
Many seem to be so healthy and naturally attractive, grabbing an outside cafe table at any intersection (this is Reestraat and Prinsengracht) is in my opinion almost as visually pleasing as a cafe terrace on the Champs Elysees. |
You tell me.....?? ..................>

Bikes outside Cafe Prinse |
Whoops Just for laughs, not even an Amsterdam shot, though it wouldn't surprise me to see this go whizzin by in Amsterdam.

No bikes No bikes in this one, just a quick canal snap I took from my bike.
The tower you see is the very old Montelbaanstoren (1512-1606) a favorite subject for Rembrandt, on Oude Schans that I took facing south/southwest with Le Nemo science center at my back. |
The blond Hollander twins on the Prinsengracht A pox upon my lousy old low-megapixel camera.
Forgot to set "zoom/telewide" for this one, so you will have to only imagine how attractive they were, sitting in the shade on the Prinsengracht.
Oh well, I would have blurred their faces intentionally anyway. But trust me, they were so typically attractive / Hollander-looking .
You'll have to go to Prinsengracht /Reestraat intersection and find them yourself.

Enjoy, G | jo104 Wed Aug 16, 2006 14:00 UTC I enjoyed your tips on Amsterdam its one of my favourite places | Nemorino Wed Aug 2, 2006 22:10 UTC Highly evocative texts and photos! I think it's great that you got to meet Louis H. Bryan. And yours is the only Theda Bara quote that I have seen thus far on VT. I went to Amsterdam in May, rented a bike and had a fine time riding around. |
