Aren't these Austraian Eclectus parrots just gorgeous?
But which is the male and which is the female? With Oz spiders it is often the female who is the most brightly coloured, but with birds it's often the opposite...but what about when Both birds are bright?
Lets see...
Now they're getting cuddly, twining their necks around each other, over and over, which is rather cute.
(Note: this doesn't appear to be a show for the cameras. Most birds in the park act rather blase about all the visitors - they see them all the time, and sometimes they pay attention to people looking at them, and others they just ignore them and go about their business of courting, feeding, drinking, bathing or nest building.
And these two little parrots are quite obviously 'sweethearts' too....well, it IS the season, being spring (though the 30 degree weather - about as cool as it gets - makes you keep thinking you're in the middle of summer)
These two (which I believe are relatives of the Indian Ringneck parrot of Asia) are not courting, but a mother feeding her chick. He was rather cute as he squeaked every time he wanted to be fed (which was after each mouthful!)

nice pics!!!! love the birds and we're heading to kuranda in september this year! We also want to take the train and skyrail (does it matter in which rank?) thanks! greetings!!!
More lovely birds, Kate. You would SO love Tambopata, Peru. That clay lick thing is awesome. Nothing like a tens of thousands of macaws and parrots descending on you in the early morning. : )
Lovely birds! I like the bathing bird very much. So colorful!! Great page!
The butterflies are really beautiful! Nice to see you managed to get o picture of the Blue Ulysses!
