Bungy - South Island

Kawarau River
This is a view looking down on the Kawarau River where the bungy jumpers aim for ! Yes I did walk on the bridge out of curiosity.

The road bridge is shown at the top of the picture.

(this follows on from the N.Z. page which shows the bridge from where they jump)

Dunedin Railway Station

Railway Station - DUNEDIN

The Railway Station in Anzac Square Dunedin, is a beautiful piece of architecture.

This station was the last of three built in this city between 1873 and 1906. It was the largest and busiest station in New Zealand.

The design is Flemmish Renaissance .

CENTENNIAL GARDENS -NAPIER

This is a small garden by comparison, but a peaceful spot, complete with waterfall, bridge, and small lake.

A quiet little corner in a busy area.

Spirit of Napier - NAPIER

This momument is situated along Marine Parade, overlooking the bay.

Museum- NAPIER

Of course I think everyone knows of the devastating earthquake of l931 when Hawkes Bay area was hit by the disaster.

It is interesting to note that in the museum there is a seismograph which records earthquake activity, and we noted that during the early morning, 2 a.m. approximately, there was a small earthquake that registered on the graph, but we all slept through it. !!
