| The Church and Royal Castle |
|
| | Maximilian Str, where it starts, at the centre of the town. |
| | Further up Maximilian Str with some more interesting architecture. This building has been in some historic photographs. |
| | This is near the top of Maximilian Str. Unfortunately this little Gasthof was cloed. I would have welcomed the oportunity to call in. The snow is just beginning to settle. |
| Maximilian's Royal Palace |
| | Maximilian's Royal Palace. It's now a restuarant and appartment building. Must be a nice place to live. |
| | The Square in the centre of town. |
| | Cafe Forstner. A superb cafe. One of my favourites. |
| Berchtesgadener Hof Hotel |
| | Berchtesgadener Hof Hotel. Closed since 1995. I wonder what will happen to this hotel.
I wonder no more. It was pulled down in 2006. |

BillNJ Tue Apr 29, 2008 03:05 UTC Fantastic tips and photos! The Eagle's Nest looks spectacular. Also, I will remember 'ist hier noch frei' on my trip to Germany next month. Best from New Jersey, Bill | lostsooner55 Tue Oct 30, 2007 02:00 UTC I agree with you on the views from the Eagle's Nest. My number one travel mistake of all times was not taking my camera. I'm planning on going back in 2010, for the Passion Play, and will try to rectify that mistake then, lol. Gary | Britannia2 Sat May 12, 2007 20:44 UTC Wonderful pages - I have really enjoyed looking at them. | iandsmith Sat Jan 20, 2007 07:45 UTC Excellent tips, 5 star stuff. I'm off there next month for only my second time and will enjoy it more as a result of your info. |
