My dog, Zoe

My German Shepherd dog is now nearly 4 years old. She is the loveliest dog. She is so friendly and loves people to pat her. She even has small children ride her like a horse, even though she isn't really that big. She is currently an 'only child' and I think she likes it that way because of all the attention she gets. My partner takes her for 9km runs through the bushland, but she only gets long walks from me. The photo here, is of Zoe in her 'drizabone' whilst we were in the Snowy Mountains.

I love reading books and used to devour them when I was younger. Now I never seem to have the time, but that is probably a poor excuse. At any one time, I'll have a couple of different books on the go. At the moment I'm reading:
- Captain Corelli's Mandolin
- Wounded Hawk
- Lonely Planet Travel disaster stories

I love old houses. They have so much character and history. I live in Newcastle which is one of Australia's oldest towns. There is so much heritage. I have bought a few of these tired old houses and renovated them. It's like a hobby of mine. Pity it is such an expensive hobby :o)

I love catching up with friends on the weekend. I'll often have coffee or brunch with a girlfriend which will pass an afternoon away in important chit chat.

One of my passions, since I was very young is travelling. My first solo trip was when I was eight. I thought it a great adventure. Now I can't get enough. It's a shame that we don't have unlimited time or money to be able to do more of the things we love.
