NYC Landscapes From the Circle Line

by Easty - last update: Sep 2, 2003

World Financial Center

Ground Zero

This is the closest I have come to Ground Zero since that fateful day. This picture was taken from the Circle Line on the middle of the Hudson River. Here is the World Financial Center. If you look carefully, you will see the church that stood next to the World Trade Center.
Lower Manhattan Sailboat

Sailing on the Hudson

Many people go out sailing onto the Hudson River. Here is a sailboat I took a picture of with the Lower Manhattan skyline in the background.
Lower Manhattan

Lower Manhattan Skyline

Here is a picture of the southern tip of Manhattan from New York Harbor near the Statue of Liberty. The skyline is still quite a site to see.
Governor's Island

Governor's Island

Governor's Island lies in between Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York Harbor. Until recently, the island has been owned by the British Government. It has been sold to New York City. Right now, it is being converted into a heritage museum. There are other plans for tourism on the island.
East River View

Looking Down the East River

Here is a picture looking down the East River from the area where the Williamsburg Bridge crosses. This is a great view of Lower Manhattan and the bridges.
Harlem River Scenery

Nice Country Scenery?

Where do you think this picture was taken? Some pond in upstate New York. Maybe somewhere in Northwest New Jersey. Nope, it was taken in Manhattan on the Harlem River. This is by the northernmost point of Manhattan Island.
The Cloisters

The Cloisters

Here is what the Cloisters looks like from the Hudson River.
GWB Lighthouse

A Little Red Lighthouse

Here is a little red lighthouse that is on the New York City side of the George Washington Bridge. The Port Authority, who owns the GWB, wanted to eliminate this lighthouse. A citizens action group got involved and successfully saved the destruction of this cute little lighthouse.
