Starting the boat trip from Road 45 in the village of Skarvsjöby. Going through the small lake called Hednästjärn (Moor isthmus pond), passing by some old barns. |

Leaving the pond via a narrow brook and entering the big lake. Skarvsjöby is located in Storuman in South of Lappland Sweden. Easiest to get there is by plane from Stockholm arlanda, a roundtrip twice a day. Population about 140 persons. See more photos and read more about Skarvsjöby on the Storuman page. |
Don't forget to visit the stone called Tjutsassara, according to the legend a Lappish culture place. The stone should be a symbol of an old Sami woman, and from some angles and with a good portion of imagination, the stone can actually look like an old woman sitting down. |

When looking back from where we came, you see the mountain Skarvberget, 578 m (a.s.l. ) The lake is as deepest 22 m. In Skarvsjön you can find fish as Pike, Perch, Salmon Trout, Whitefish. And if you have a bad day, you will also get some Roach, just throw them back. Fishing permission card is sold in the village, just follow the signs. |
At night If you stay until the night you will see the sunset, but don't go home when it gets dark. Because it never really become that dark as you will notice. |
During June and July the sun is only down for about two hours. So why not go out and take a walk by the lake in the sunrise. If you wait until about 3 AM, then the sun is up again. |
First days of winter When you have been visiting Skarven in the summer, you then have to come back 4 months later in November, to check out the last days before the winter. |
The days after the first snow but before the lake is freeze, that will be one of the most peaceful and quiet moments you can find. |
