My favourite furry creatures The Alpine Marmot is the only kind of marmot I have ever seen. I don't know why I have a fascination for them, maybe because they're illusive but not so illusive that you'll never see them.
I spend much of the summer hiking in the mountains in the alpine regions of Switzerland and Italy looking out for them. Hearing their whistles is a thrilling experience, knowing that they're around somewhere.
So far, I've seen them around the mountains in Gridelwald, Zermatt and the Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso in Italy. |
